short film pitch review feedback

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yhtj9LGLBs

After presenting our ideas to the rest of the class/audience, an issue that soon became apparent was the fact that we couldn't fit too much stereotypical content into our short film. The audience feedback enabled us to re-think our ideas of adding an african culture into the short film with regards to timing factors (not having enough time) and demonstrated to us how difficult it would be for us to show Asian and African culture together in our short film simply because of the nature of our film.

Overall, the audience thought our short film pitch was a good idea and would be successful if we produced it properly and others found it confusing with the idea of having to merge all these different themes together. In my opinion, i think the audience found some aspects of it confusing because we didn't present it in a very clear and understandable manner; instead we presented it how it sounded like to us in our heads.

The audience was also slightly confused as to where the filming will take place after we explained it will take place in various locations. For example the airport scene where the main character arrives and the park where the daydream scene will take place. We was told that we would not be allowed to film in the airport due to security reasons however we discovered bt phoning up London City Airport, we was made allowed to film under a number of circumstances.

28th January 2013

Today i worked on the print product film review,  i did  the layout and did the text of the film review. All that i have left to do is insert the stills of the actual short film itself which will then complete it. I also finished the review of the video presentations today which were a great help to us as a group as it gave us a sense of direction.

Print products - MAGAZINE COVER DRAFT

This is our first draft of our magazine cover we have produced by paper then scanned in. We pre planned to use this format from the help of magazine posters we did our case study's on and own personal preference.

video pitch feedback of print products

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jp0TKE7Z4kI&feature=youtu.be

The video feedback was very helpful to us as a group on our ideas of the print products. The draft that we did was helpful as it gave the audience a good idea of how we was going to to do poster. All in all they thought it was a good idea to try use the 'East is East' and 'West is West' splash effect to preview what was going to happen in the short film but not give away the full story of the film.

Our draft magazine cover was thought to be a good idea however there was abit of a disagreement in the ue of the tagline we used in the draft 'Same Monty Different Country'. Our classmates thought it was short and to the point and made sense as to that the main character being in a London as another country however as a counter argument it suggested that there would have been a previous film with regards to to the main character and just didnt make sense and would have caused more complication. It was difficult for us to decide whether to use this tag line or not because of the mixed argument.

With regards to the feedback of the print products, it helped us to decide which still images to use in our magazine poster as we suggested ideas to the audience, they agreed that we should use the security guard scene in one of the splashes and a still of the olympic stadium. Another scene that was suggested was the daydream scene, we are still deciding to incorporate this still into it as it may give away whats going to happen in the short film. All in all we didnt recieve much criticism and the audience really liked our draft of the magazine cover and ideas we presented.
